Biography:
Steven Goldburg is entering his first season as an assistant coach with the North Adams SteepleCats. Golburg spent the last three summers as an auxiliary coach with the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team.
As an undergraduate, Goldburg attended Vanderbilt University. As a student assistant, he served the Vanderbilt baseball team in many roles. He worked primarily with the pitching staff as a bullpen catcher during practices and games under head coach Tim Corbin and pitching coach Derek Johnson. In 2007, the team spent most of the season near the top of the polls and won the Southeastern Conference regular season and tournament championships. They entered the NCAA tournament that year as the No. 1 overall seed.
With Team USA, Goldburg was an auxiliary coach in the summers of 2006, 2007 and 2008. In 2006 and 2007, Goldburg was the team’s bullpen catcher and traveled with the team throughout their tour of the country and the NECBL. In 2008, Goldburg was the team’s bullpen catcher and bullpen coach and again traveled with the team. In 2008 the team went undefeated through the summer and beat the Cuban national team twice en route to winning the Haarlem Baseball Week tournament in the Netherlands. Team USA also won the FISU World Collegiate Baseball Championships in the Czech Republic.
Goldburg graduated from Vanderbilt in May 2008 with a degree in mechanical engineering . He completed his Master of Education in Secondary Education in May 2010.
