Biography:
Matt Klein will be playing for the SteepleCats this summer with fellow Oklahoma State University Cowboy Devin Shines. Klein just finished up his junior season at OSU and was one of head coach Frank Anderson’s most called upon pitchers out of the bullpen.
Klein made 14 appearances, all in relief, in 2010, his first season at OSU. He had no record and an ERA of 5.00. He struck out 14 batters and walked seven in 18 innings of work. Prior to OSU, Klein pitched for two years at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colo. In two seasons at Northeastern JC, Klein went 7-7 with a 3.00 ERA. He pitched 100 innings and struck out 123 batters.
Klein played high school baseball at Sierra Vista High School. He went 9-2 with a 1.86 ERA and 83 strikeouts in 70 innings pitched as a senior, en route to being named first-team all-state. He was a part of the state championship team in 2005.
