Biography:
A local addition to the team, Procopio plays his college ball in North Adams at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. A native of Berkshire County, Procopio played his high school ball at Taconic High School in Pittsfield. A versatile infielder who can play three infield positions, Procopio will be of great value to the SteepleCats this summer.
Procopio will play for the SteepleCats after another productive season at MCLA. As a junior in 2010, Procopio started 27 of MCLA’s 30 games and hit .326 with a home run and 17 RBI. As a sophomore in 2009, Procopio was named to the MASCAC Baseball All-Conference Second Team after playing in 31 games for MCLA and hitting .365 with two home runs and 24 RBI. Procopio appeared in 12 games as a freshman in 2008 and hit .189 with a home run and five RBI.
At Taconic High School, Procopio was a two-time All-Berkshire County selection in both baseball and hockey.
