A transfer from the University of Florida, Tyler Palmer joins the plethora of Sunshine State denizens who will trek to the Berkshires this summer looking to bring versatility at the plate and in the field to Joe Wolfe Field.

Palmer transferred to “The U” after spending his freshmen season at the University of Florida, where he played in nine games, with four starts at third base, and batted.286 (4-for-14) with three runs.

This season, Palmer has had an instant impact with the nationally ranked Hurricanes, batting .252 in 40 games (38 starts) while going 34-for-135 from the plate. He has notched seven doubles, four homers and 17 RBIs while going 9-for-12 in stolen bases. Defensively, he has seen most of his time in the outfield as opposed to his listed position as a third baseman.

A product from the University School of Nova Southeastern University who played for head coach Richie Palmer, Palmer ranked No. 50 in the state of Florida according to Prospectswire.com and was the fifth-best shortstop on the list before he graduated. Palmer was named High Honorable Mention on Rawlings' Preseason All-America Team and earned first-team All-Broward Country as a senior after hitting .610 with 37 RBI, 24 stolen bases and six homers.

The son of Gaspar and Mary, Tyler has one brother, Richie, and is pursuing a degree in Exercise Physiology.
