Tabbed as an outstanding athlete with above-average speed and base-running skills by the Notre Dame coaching staff, Conor Biggio heads to North Adams planning to factor into the SteepleCats lineup in just about any regard.

Listed as both an infielder and outfielder, the freshman has seen plenty of action with the Fighting Irish in his first year of collegiate ball. Biggio is batting .214 in 23 games – 15 starts – with Notre Dame, and the speedster has gone 7-for-8 in stolen bases on the season, making him a compelling option for the leadoff spot in any lineup.

Before Notre Dame, he enjoyed a final senior season at St. Thomas High School in his hometown of Houston, Texas. He batted .356 with nine doubles, one triple, one home run, 11 RBI, 12 stolen bases and 52 runs in his final season with a .527 slugging percentage and .539 on-base percentage. All of that helped him get named to the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) Class 5A State All-Tournament Team and second team all-state selection and first team all-district honors. He helped St. Thomas capture back-to-back TAPPS Class 5A State Championships in back-to-back seasons. He played for Ken Schulte and his father, Craig, at St. Thomas.

One of the finest players in Houston Astros and MLB history, his father Craig played an entire 20-year MLB career with the Astros (1988-2007) and ranks 21st all-time with 3,060 career hits, and is the ninth player in the 3,000 Hit Club to get all his hits with the same team.

The son of Craig and Patty, Conor Joseph Biggio was born Jan. 7, 1993. He has two younger brothers, Cavan and Quinn, and is enrolled in First Year of Studies.
