Another lefty hurler for the SteepleCats, Christian MacDonald heads north from UNC Wilmington and his home state of Virginia to bolster the North Adams pitching staff for the 2012 season.

A participant in seven games through early May for the Seahawks, MacDonald owns a 1-0 record with a 9.39 ERA in 7 2/3 innings of action for UNC Wilmington. He has totaled four strikeouts and three walks during his sophomore campaign in college, one year after making eight relief appearances while striking out seven batters in seven innings in his rookie season.

While in high school, MacDonald earned VISAA second-team All-State honors at Greenbrier Academy. He earned similar honors in the Tidewater Conference after helping his team to a pair of 1A State Championships. The Virginia Beach, Va., native also played in North Carolina-Virginia All-Star Classic and also pitched for the former Major League player Gary Lavelle.

The son of George and Gwen MacDonald, Christian Lee was born Feb. 26, 1992. His father also played golf at the University of South Carolina.
