The Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Year and a Louisville Slugger All-American, Bryan Soloman brings a powerful swing and a capable glove at third base to the Berkshires for Coach Bryan Adamski this summer.

Soloman is in his second season at Eastern Kentucky, where the Colonels are in the midst of a tight race for first place in the OVC. While his numbers may have tapered off this season, the Toms River, N.J., native still is batting a solid .267 on 43 hits and has launched 13 doubles and 10 homers, totaling 33 RBIs while scoring 25 runs himself.

He broke out with a rookie campaign that saw him bat .310 with nine home runs, a team-best 17 doubles and 40 RBI. Soloman was one of only two Colonels to start all 57 games in 2011, providing EKU with middle-of-the-lineup power throughout the season and finishing with a .516 slugging percentage.

The 2010 Gatorade and Louisville Slugger New Jersey Player of the Year following a senior season in which he hit .467 with 12 home runs, 38 RBI, 34 runs scored and nearly set a national record with a home run in nine consecutive games, Soloman was a two-time preseason Under Armour All-American. He was named the 2010 A-South Hitter of the Year and the 2010 New Jersey Hitter of the Year following his senior season. He also earned first team all-state, all-shore, all-division and all-county honors as a senior while winning the 2010 Ocean County Sportsmanship Award, the 2010 Bernard Reider Award for Exemplary Sportsmanship and Jackson Memorial High’s 2010 Team MVP Award.

The son of Stephen and Claire, Bryan was born Sept. 15, 1991 and is pursuing a degree in sports management.
