Joining teammate Roberto Baroniel Jr., Brett Clements hails from the highly successful and nationally ranked Nova Southeastern (DII) program that will surely be competing for a national crown headed to the postseason.

Clements, a switch-hitting junior from Riverview, Fla., played two seasons at South Florida Community College before becoming a Shark. He has not disappointed in his first season, batting .263 in 35 games – 28 starts – with 26 hits in 99 at-bats while scoring 13 runs, drilling nine doubles, a triple and two homers while accumulating 23 RBIs.

Clements started for two seasons at SFCC, earning himself a 2011 All-Conference Second-Team selection and was named 2011 Defensive Player of the Year. He received the 2011 SFCC Coach’s Award for his performance. That impressive campaign followed a stellar rookie season in which he batted .320 with four home runs while driving in 27 RBIs. An extra-base threat, Clements led all JUCO schools in the state of Florida with 20 doubles as a sophomore.

A four-year starter at Riverview High School, Clements won the Most Valuable Defensive Player award in 3-of-4 seasons. The son of David and Sherry, Brett is pursuing a degree in sports management.
