STEEPLECATS' INAUGURAL SPAGHETTI DINNER A SUCCESS
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Bolstered by the efforts of countless volunteers and team staff members, the North Adams SteepleCats proudly hosted its first-ever Spaghetti Dinner Thursday afternoon at The Eagles. Various families, friends and SteepleCats supporters joined a group of staff members, interns and volunteers – including a special appearance by Slider himself – for a three-hour dinner on a beautiful Thursday afternoon in the Berkshires.
Guests also had the opportunity to speak with new manager Bryan Adamski and Assistant Coach Tony Dismukes, who were walking through the tables wearing their home gold uniform jerseys.
“We have been encouraged to hold a spaghetti dinner for several years, and with the leadership of our Concession Manager, Lisa Briggs, and the volunteer efforts of our interns (Chris Aliano, Ryan Scanlon, Zachary Tanne, and Casey Winston), and many members from our organization, we were able to make our first-ever attempt a success," general manager Sean McGrath said. "We look forward to making this an annual event and might even consider holding an additional dinner during our season so our players can serve the meals."
In addition to the dinner – which included a full plate of spaghetti and meatballs, a roll with butter and a side salad – the team also held a 50/50 raffle and awarded three door prizes. The winners of the various prizes were: John Allen for the 50/50 raffle; AJ Morrissette won the Full Family Season Pass ($100 value); Clark Champagne won the $50 gift certificate to the merchandise stand; and Jamie Malloy won third place and a gift certificate to the concession stand.
With this year’s inters now in the community, the preparation for the season is in full swing with opening night looming just over two weeks away. Prior to season beginning, the SteepleCats will host a Free Clinic on Wednesday, June 6 at Joe Wolfe Field for children 8 years and older. Then, join us at The Joe on Friday, June 8 as the SteepleCats host the Vermont Mountaineers. Following the game – slated for a 6:30 p.m. start – the team will host its first postgame fireworks celebration of the season.
